Here’s Our Covid 19 Safe Filming Guide.

How do you Prepare for Safe and Effective Filming During a Pandemic?

Let’s face it, patience for those stock footage ads is wearing thin. We are thrilled to be creating live action content for our clients again. As such, we have created a covid 19 safe filming guidelines policy that are based on advice from the APA.

Here is a quick summary of what measures we put in place to prepare for a safe and effective film shoot: (When we can!)

Pre Prep for Covid 19 Safe Filming:

  • We complete health checks for everyone attending the shoot.  These take place 7 days prior to filming, on the day, and 7 days after the shoot and action is taken accordingly.
  • Venue is well ventilated & follows appropriate Covid-19 Guidelines before we agree to use as a location.
  • Backup crew are always ready incase any substitutes are needed.
  • Call times are staggered to avoid congestion and the production is meticulously planned. Wellbeing is paramount.
  • Dedicated members of staff regularly clean the equipment/ venue
  • A limited crew will be on set at one time.

On Set Safety Measures:

  • All cast and crew signs a health declaration before being allowed on set.
  • Cast and Crew have their temperatures taken before allowing entry.
  • Tape is placed on the floor prior to filming to set out the marks of 2m distance. Crew, cast and client boxes are clearly marked out to ensure everyone has a safe place to be
  • Everyone has their own separate ‘holding spaces’ designated to wait while filming takes place.
  • Sanitiser stations are set up around the space beforehand and tier P.P.E will is provided and worn by all.
  •  Clients can choose to be on set via video call or in a separate space with a remote shot of the camera to oversee the shoot.
  •  Scenes are played back on monitors. This avoids crowding around the camera.
  • Open, honest communication maximised wellbeing and FUN throughout the day!

Covid 19 Safe Filming Measures:

  • Only one camera operator is present on set with a remote camera.  Filming is done in 2k or 4k and then the video size is cropped later. This means we can keep a safe distance and get the correct composition needed to make our films look great.
  • Studio filming consists of a filming space which includes only the subject, or product and camera operator. All other crew are  away from the action area and can move between sections on a one in one out basis.
  • Prelight is planned prior to filming in an empty space. This allows fewer people to need to interact with each other before we film.
